DeRonda Williams, Founder of DGW Consulting Group

DeRonda Williams is the Founder and President of DGW Consulting Group.  DeRonda served as Finance Director for the KIPP Foundation for five years, where she was the primary liaison with KIPP schools across the country on all finance matters.  In this role she developed and gained a national perspective and understanding of charter school finance.  She developed a common framework for discussing and measuring financial health and sustainability.  DeRonda also developed and delivered charter school finance training to Principals through the KIPP School Leadership Programs (KSLP).

Prior to joining KIPP, DeRonda spent over ten years at Pearson Education as a Vice President, Director of Finance for the K-12 and college divisions. She also has prior experience in manufacturing, where she worked as an Industrial Engineer for Olin Corporation.

In 2013, DeRonda was appointed by the Governor to the Illinois State Charter School Commission, where she is one of nine commissioners and serves as the Commission's Chair.  The Commission resolves charter school appeals, shares best practices in authorizing and is the authorizer of several charter schools in Chicago and the surrounding area.  DeRonda’s Commission work includes co-chairing, with Senator Iris Martinez, a statewide task force to examine charter school funding issues in Illinois. 

DeRonda is the co-founder of Ops360, a non-profit organization funded by the Walton Family Foundation.  Ops360 provides training and development to finance/operations leaders of charter schools and Charter Management Organizations. The program operates programs in Memphis and New Orleans.

DeRonda has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She is actively involved as a volunteer and board member with several community organizations.
